Bespoke Consultancy with Disabled Children and Young People

The Disability Discrimination Act 2005 states that Disabled Children and Young People should be consulted about and involved in planning services they may choose to access. The service should be delivered in such a way that they don’t experience discriminative practices.

There have been many positive changes due to inclusive  play training that has offered ways to challenge the barriers to inclusion, however there are still many Disabled Children and Young People who do not access ordinary, local out of school services - WHY?

AJA may be in a position to support you to find out why, by consulting Disabled Children and Young People themselves.

Consultants from AJA have vast experience of working with a wide range of children and young people with various impairments, finding out what they would like to do in their free time.

AJA can provide the following

  • Consultation events for groups of Disabled Children and Young People– using games, group work, playful and creative activities, interactive interview techniques, questionnaires and opportunities for informal chats
  • An opportunity for you and your staff to play a part in the consultation process
  • A written report of the context, the consultation process, and evaluation, with recommendations for the future.
  • Follow up guidance to put recommendations into practice
  • Individual, discreet interviews with Disabled Children and Young People, with report and recommendations
