Aims
To introduce participants to a new and challenging view of disability and support them in developing play services that are inclusive to all
Learning Outcomes
- To explore definitions of disability and how they shape our approach to working with disabled children
- To introduce the social and medical models of disability
- To understand and practice the principles of adapting games and activities
- To explore the language and terminology used in relation to disability and examine its impact
- To develop a personal action plan for change
Target Audience
Childcare and Youth Service providers, Elected Members, Any frontline staff, Social Workers, Health Visitors, Housing and Library Services, Doctors Surgeries, Parents
Number of Students
Minimum: 6 Maximum: 20
Course Requirements
1 trainer, 1 day, 6 hours, 10am - 4pm. The course will always be delivered by a trainer with personal experience of disability

Courses are delivered in a fun, participative way and can be adapted to engage different target audiences. Requirements for access, timing and training space will be specified in advance. The timing of courses can be flexible to meet the needs of learners.
