Aims
- To introduce participants to a new and challenging view of disability.
Learning Outcomes
- To explore definitions of disability and how they shape our approach to working with disabled people
- To explore the language and terminology used in relation to disability
- To examine media images and reflect on how this feeds negative attitudes and language towards Disabled People
- To introduce the social and medical models of disability and their impact on the lives of Disabled People.
- To identify actions to put new learning into practice and improve services for customers
