A four day course over three months with home study
Course Code: AJA1

Aim
To promote and support the development of inclusive management practice in play and early years settings.

Learning Outcomes
An exploration of language and terminology used in relation to disability
To reflect on principles of inclusive management
To give an overview of legislation that supports inclusion
A review of policies which can be used to promote and support inclusion
Identify a range of strategies for managing intimate assistance for Disabled Children
An exploration of risk in children’s play and the need to ensure these opportunities for all children
Experience of Peer Mentoring and observational visits

Target Audience
Experienced or senior play and early years workers, managers, Local Authority Development Workers

Number of Students
Minimum: 6                     
Maximum: 16

Course Requirements  
The course is delivered by two trainers over three months and includes four teaching days (consecutive or staggered), assignments and peer mentoring visits.

Endorsement/Accreditation              
Working towards NVQ Level 3 Accreditation

Courses are delivered in a fun, participative way and can be adapted to engage different target audiences. Requirements for access, timing and training space will be specified in advance. The timing of courses can be flexible to meet the needs of learners.
