Aim
To provide an overview of the principles and practice of effectively safeguarding children

Learning Outcomes
The course will enable learners to:
Help children protect themselves from abuse
Identify signs of possible abuse
Respond to a child’s disclosure of abuse
Report possible abuse

Playworkers, Early Years Workers, Childminders

Number of Students
Minimum: 6
Maximum: 20

Course Requirements
A course which was written by play and childcare workers for people who work with children and young people. Delivered by two trainers in ten hours over two days. To successfully complete the course, participants will need to:
Attended 10 hours of training
Play an active role within the sessions
Complete a simple assignment
Complete a workbook

Endorsements
This course is linked to the National Occupational Standards for Playwork and Children’s Care, Learning and Development at Level 3 and is endorsed by Skills Active

Courses are delivered in a fun, participative way and can be adapted to engage different target audiences. Requirements for access, timing and training space will be specified in advance. The timing of courses can be flexible to meet the needs of learners.
