Aims
To explore issues around sex and relationships for young people with physical impairments

Learning Outcomes
To introduce the social and medical models of disability and explore how they impact on peoples thinking.
To identify and reflect on the key issues relating to sex and relationships education (SRE) and young Disabled People.
To understand information related to SRE as it pertains to young people.
To learn to recognise the social, personal and professional values and attitudes in relation to SRE.
To identify the skills required to implement SRE with young people with physical impairments.

Target Audience
Professionals working with young people with physical impairments.

Number of Students
Minimum: 6
Maximim: 16

Course Requirements  
The course is delivered by two trainers over two consecutive days and is delivered jointly by Alison John & Associates and the FPA (Family Planning Association)

Endorsement or Accreditation
Open College Network Level 2 accreditation

Course materials are provided. Other recommended resources on display during the course.

Courses are delivered in a fun, participative way and can be adapted to engage different target audiences. Requirements for access, timing and training space will be specified in advance. The timing of courses can be flexible to meet the needs of learners.
