| Training on The Disability Discrimination Act (1995) |

When Alison John and Associates (AJA) delivers Disability Discrimination Act Training, it is delivered in a practical, participative and fun way. It is training that supports businesses and service providers to understand their responsibilities under the Disability Discrimination Act (1995).
As AJA trainers, we think the best DDA and Disability Equality training is delivered from a perspective called the Social Model of Disability. This model focuses on disabling barriers and places the responsibility firmly on our society as a whole to make our communities more accessible and welcoming to a diverse range of people.
We believe having Disability Discrimination Act training delivered by Disabled People makes it more effective. Our feedback has shown that receiving training from a Disabled Person’s perspective rather than someone speaking on behalf of Disabled People maximises the impact of the training. By way of comparison, in line with current practice, it wouldn’t be acceptable for Race Equality training to be delivered only by white people who don’t have experiences of being discriminated against racially. We think the same principles should apply to training about Disability Equality.

AJA believe our training and workshops hit the mark!
